The BBQ went off great yesterday! We really enjoyed the tour of the high school, given by Mr.Jackson. A big Thank You to him! Some parts have really changed, including an unbelievable workout gym!Wow! Here are just two quick pictures from the BBQ. We are looking forward to tonight to continue the fun!

We wanted to remind everyone of the Country Club's strict dress code policy: NO Jeans of any color allowed. You will not be allowed inside the doors wearing jeans.

Ok folks, our 10 year reunion is next weekend, Aug 6, 7, & 8th! The country club needs a head count for dinner at least 72hrs in advance, so we will give you up until next week, Thursday, to send in your registration form. You can pay for dinner day of for $40 cash only.However, they may not have enough for you since we are giving a head count ahead of time.

Now, it does not coast money to attend, just if you are going to eat dinner! It would be nice if you could let us know if you are planning on attending since we are making name tags. Please fill out the registration for including the back side, the questionnaire.

Did you know that our reunion is only 3 months away?!? Crazy huh!

Please make sure you are filling out your invitations and sending them in ASAP! For those of you that will be making a trip to the coast here and don't have family or friends to stay with, make sure you book your hotel room at the Best Western Lincoln Inn, that is where we have a block of rooms set aside. They will only be holding 15 rooms until June 16th, then they will be released! Make sure you mention that you are with the Astoria High School (AHS) Reunion to get the special rate. I want to be clear about page six of the invitation. It is free to attend any of the days or events of the reunion, you just need to pay to eat. If you are going to bring a guest or kids to Friday or Saturday's (adults only) event, that is fine, you just need to pay if they are going to eat. Pricing is per person, please note the specific cut off dates and prices. Register early and save money!

Slight Bonfire Change

So I wanted to make a quick announcement regarding the bonfire. It has been brought up in conversations that people have concerns about having a bonfire. The concerns are these: people don't have a proper vehicles to go onto the beach, how people are going to get home, and that it is out on Sunset Beach- Left which is too far from Astoria (Warrenton) to get a cab ride home. These are legitimate concerns and my answer to them is that people are to be responsible and to figure it out!
Many people still want to have one, so there will still be one. Kirk Wintermute has taken one as the leader here on this one. He has asked for you to Bring Your Own Beer (BYOB) and bring some wood or pallets.
We want everyone to have a good time at these functions, non of which are required. Please go to what you'd like, have fun and most importantly be safe!

Best Western Lincoln Inn~Astoria

We were able to get a group rate for 15 bay front rooms at the Best Western Lincoln Inn in Astoria, across form the turn-a-round. 5 of these rooms have two Queen size beds in them and 10 of the rooms have a single King size bed. Due to the high amount of summer travelers we only have until June 16, 2010 to get the group rate. When calling to make your reservations please make sure to mention that you are with the AHS Reunion to get the group rate. We have Friday August 6th and Saturday August 7th reserved. For a room like this one (above) with two queen size beds is $145.99 per night.

A Single King bedroom is $135.99 per night.

This is the dinning room that has a big screen TV on the wall. Hot breakfast is included with your reservation, and they have fruit, sausage, make your own waffles, cereal and much more!

They have a small heated pool.

A workout room is also included.

This hotel seems like it should suit most peoples needs. It has wireless high sped Internet access, complimentary hot breakfast, free overnight parking, an indoor heated pool and hot tub and an exercise facility. You can even bring your dog for a small additional fee. late checkout is available, but you will just need to ask for it the night before. Check in time is 4:00pm and check out time is 11:00am.

Bonfire

Many people have been asking about the bonfire for the reunion. There will be one, adults only, on Friday the 6th, of August, starting at 8pm. This will take place after the family-friendly BBQ at the high school. As of this day, the group of people who are organizing it, Jenni Peterson, Nicole Horton Lotz, Katie Magathan Oranen, Megan Linehan Jarrett, the bonfire will taking place out on Sunset Beach-Left. BYOB!

Bonfire

Many people have requested that they would like to have a bonfire on one of the nights of the reunion. It has been decided that Megan Jarett (Linehan), Jenni Peterson, Katie Oranen (Magathan), and Nicole Lotz (Horton) are hosting this. It will be on Friday night, following a planned event. This will not be a child friendly bonfire. We will give you an update on exact time and location closer to the date. Tentative date will be Friday July, 30th.
